After much dedicated hard work of members of the IT committee, the launching of the Lasallian Portal was joyfully greeted by the Lasallian Brothers, guests and the Brother Visitor from the Philippines.
The Lasallian Portal is officially launched with a Bang!
Today, the sight of a Lasallian brother walking the corridors of a La Salle school in his white robe is a rarity. It has been 9 years since the retirement of the last Lasallian Brother Director, Bro. Paul Ho, from St. Xavier’s Institution in Penang. Ironically, St. Xavier’s Institution is the first school established by the Lasallian Brothers in 1852. And it has been 2 years since the retirement of the last Lasallian Brother teacher, Bro. Michael Kum, from St. Francis Institution, Malacca.
Many young Lasallians today, not only have not seen a Brother in his robe but are unaware of who the Lasallian Brothers are or their contributions to the very school they are studying in, or the significant contributions the Brothers have made to Malaysian education.
This will change. The Brother visitor, will be making a tour off all the La Salle schools in Peninsular Malaysia, starting with the Klang Valley schools in May 2018, the Southern Schools in June 2018 and the Northern Schools in July 2018.
Brother Visitor will be visiting La Salle Schools on the following dates:
2 May 2018 – St. John’s Institution/La Salle Brickfields/La Salle Sentul
3 May 2018 – La Salle Petaling Jaya/La Salle Klang
27 June 2018 – St. Andrew’s Muar/St. Francis’ Institution Melaka
28 June 2018 – St. Paul’s Institution Seremban
For month of June and July, we are awaiting confirmation of dates from Brother Visitor.

The Inter La Salle Games was an annual sports programme involving the La Salle schools inthe Klang Valley during the 1970s through to the late 1980s. The programme was stagedprimarily to nurture and identify young talents that can be recruited for the respectiveschool’s mainstream Under-15 and Under-18 teams that participated in the district andstate level tournaments. The Games were limited by age group to Under-14 – hence aneffective feeder programme.

With Christmas approaching, the eyes of the world turn once again to the city of Bethlehem. Such are the economic and political problems — including the towering Israeli security wall that separates the city physically and symbolically from Jerusalem — that it can be difficult to find reasons for hope or optimism for the future.
Also known as De La Salle Brothers, this Congregation was founded in France in 1680 by John Baptist de La Salle. The founder saw the need to provide education to the poor because the schools were, at that time, only for the rich. In 1852, the first group of La Salle Brothers arrived in Penang Malaya, where they established their first school, St Xavier’s Institution.

Congratulation to Mr Jern Fei Ng, an old boy from La Salle Petaling Jaya who was appointed a Queen’s Counsel
[PETALING JAYA: He was just 17 when he left for England.
On Feb 26 in London, Jern-Fei Ng, 38, was appointed a Queen’s Counsel, joining the top 10% of Britain’s 17,000 barristers.
But the story is more than just an inspiring one – it is about resilience and hard work.
Not one to give up easily, Ng believes that he can always reach beyond the horizon.
An old boy of La Salle Petaling Jaya, Ng graduated with a BA Honours in Law from Cambridge University. He was called to the English Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2002 and has been in practice at Essex Court Chambers, London since 2004.
